A close to home paddle on this pretty section of the Schuylkill River above and through Valley Forge National Park. Much of the shoreline is undeveloped. Primarily a moving water run with a few easy rapids. One class 1+ rapid through a breach in the Goodrich dam remnants. Either run this fun rapid or do an easy portage around it. The approximate trip time for this 10 mile paddle including a break for lunch is 3 hours. The Schuylkill Canal Park is approximately 45 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.
Meet at Schuylkill Canal Park, 31 Bridge Street, Mont Clair, PA, Coordinates 40.14585824366342, -75.50783400500805. Turn off Bridge Street onto Towpath Road and park at the parking lot adjacent to the canal lock.
