Intro to Whitewater Canoe (2-Days)

No experience necessary.

Location: Schuylkill River

This class will introduce you to whitewater canoeing.  You will learn  safety, how to properly use equipment and learn skills to confidently control a canoe in whitewater. Students will taught water reading, scouting, avoiding hazards and river running. It will be conducted on class 1-2 whitewater.

Please wear synthetic clothing, no cotton. Protect your feet, wear closed toe river shoes that will fit securely. You will learn how to safely exit your boat into deep water, swim to shore and various re-entries.

You will be receiving communication from your instructor before the class with clothing suggestions and things to bring.

Instruction is offered solo (1 person in a canoe) or tandem (2 people in a canoe).

You may take just the first day only.
