Paddle approximately 3 miles upriver to the base of Flat Rock Dam and return to the club. The current gradually increases from a gentle current to class II rapids near the dam. Practice attaining (paddling against the currant), ferrying and portaging around the rock ledges near the dam. This practice is for people who have completed a PCC class and/or are experienced paddlers. There is no formal instruction, but we will all learn, watch out for each other and offer tips to improve our river skills. Helmets (club helmets are available for use) are recommended for this practice. The time on the water for this practice is approximately 4 hours. Optionally bring lunch to eat at the club after the practice.
