Now that many Pennsylvania rivers and creeks summer water levels are too low for a trip we turn to the Delaware with it’s good water levels.  Paddle past the towering rock cliffs of the Delaware Water Gap and then a mix of fields, wooded hills and some development.  For the class 1+/1 Rapids boater, this section of the Middle Delaware has a good number of such rapids.  The approximate time on the water for this 13.8 mile trip is 5.5 hours.  The Delaware river is approximately 115 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.  The meeting time was changed from 10:00 AM to 7:30 AM to paddle in the cooler morning hours.

Meet at the take out at Belvidere Boat Ramp, 45 Front St, Belvidere, Coordinates 40.828170966664075, -75.08250228278858. There is a porta potty at this location.  We will consolidate boats onto cars and drive together to the put in.   At the end of the day we will use the cars that were left at Belvidere to take drivers and, if possible, their boats back to Kittatinny to get their vehicles.

Put in Kittatinny Beach Boat Ramp, off Route 209, River Rd, Columbia, NJ 07832.  (Below the I-80 Bridge, Take the River Road exit off I-80).  Coordinates: 40.969720090741866, -75.12794486815555. There are bathrooms at this location.
