A beautiful remote run down the heart of the Wharton State Forest. The river twists and turns and there are some obstructions (tree limbs and bushes) to navigate past.
The car shuttle between the put in and take out includes driving on 4 miles of state forest sand road. Expect to meet at the takeout where we will consolidate boats on top of vehicles and drive together to the put in. At the end of the trip, we will use the vehicles left at Batsto to take drivers back to Quaker Bridge to get their vehicles and get everybody and their boats back together. Specific shuttle directions will be emailed to participants Friday night. The approximate time on the river including lunch to paddle 5.5 miles is 4 hours. The Batsto River is approximately 70 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club
