Paddle approximately 2.5 miles upriver from the club to class 1 rapids and return to the club. Practice surfing and peel outs. This practice is for people who have completed a PCC class and/or are experienced paddlers. There is no formal instruction, but we all learn, watch out for each other and offer tips to improve our river skills. Helmets (club helmets are available for use) are recommended for this practice. The time on the water for this practice is approximately 3.5 hours.
Participants must be American Canoe Association (ACA) members and complete an online waiver. Uncertain if you have a waiver? Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”. If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete it. Non-members are encouraged to join ACA and complete the waiver. The $40 membership provides insurance for club events for the next year.
