Paddle 2 miles upriver from the club and back.  Practice various rescue techniques including swimming with a life jacket, self-rescue, emptying a kayak and boat over boat rescue.  You will be in in the water.  This practice is for people who have completed a PCC class and/or are experienced paddlers. There is no formal instruction, but we all learn, watch out for each other and offer tips to improve our river skills.  The time on the water for this practice is approximately 3 hours.

Participants must be American Canoe Association (ACA) members and complete an online waiver.  Uncertain if you have a waiver?  Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”.  If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete it.  Non-members are encouraged to join ACA and complete the waiver.  The $40 membership provides insurance for club events for the next year.  The day of the trip ACA members without an annual waiver (bring your membership number) and non-members (pay $10 cash for a 1 day event membership) can complete a paper waiver.
