Join us for gentle paddle out from the dock, for those who want to take a moment enjoying nature after working in the clubhouse and before beginning your week.
We'll paddle to the waterfall tumbling over the Wissahickon dam and then upstream along the Schuylkill. After passing under nearby bridges we'll turn and head back downstream to the dock. We may see turtles, cormorants, or a heron if we're lucky. We'll bring bags in case the river banks could use a little clean up too. It'll give us a chance to practice different paddle strokes and maneuvering. No experience needed.
Cost $10 for non-ACA members
The time on the water for this 2 mile trip is approximately 1.5 hours. Your bottom may get wet so consider bringing swim trunks or a change of clothes. Always nice to sit on the porch and enjoy the space. Bring a water bottle snack to eat at the club after the paddle.

ACA Membership Information
Non-members are encouraged to join ACA and complete the waiver. The $40 membership provides insurance for club events for the entire year. The day of the trip ACA members without an annual waiver (bring your membership number) can complete a paper waiver and Non-members pay $10 cash for a 1 day event membership. Participants must be American Canoe Association (ACA) annual or 1-day members and must complete an online waiver.
Uncertain if you have a waiver? Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”. If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete it.
Rain, inclement weather, or high or low water levels can cancel or reschedule the trip or change the trip location.
