Enjoy a tranquil paddle on the Lehigh Canal (portage one lock) from Bethlehem to Allentown, portage to the River and return to Bethlehem. This section of the Lehigh River is undeveloped and attractive. The water is mostly smooth with some ripples and a few islands. A good trip for all skill levels. We will eat lunch when we portage from the canal to the river. The anticipated trip time for this 9 mile paddle is 4. 5 hours. The Lehigh is approximately 75 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club. Participants must be American Canoe Association (ACA) members and complete an online waiver. Uncertain if you have a waiver? Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”. If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete it. Non-members are encouraged to join ACA and complete the waiver. The $40 membership provides insurance for club events for the next year. The day of the trip ACA members without an annual waiver (bring your membership number) and non-members (pay $10 cash for a 1 day event membership) can complete a paper waiver.
