Trip Cancelled, Oswego River, Moving Water

The trip is cancelled due to the forcast for heavy rain on Saturday.  Paddle this beautiful river located in some of the wildest recesses of the Pine Barrens. The first half of the trip is through a white cedar forest.  At about halfway the Oswego spreads out into a marshy, multi-channeled, pond-like expanse.  Then, paddle the last mile through Harrisville Pond to the takeout.  The time on the water for this 6.3 mile paddle is approximately 4.5 hours. We will take a break and eat lunch along the way.  We will hopefully be rewarded with cranberries ripe for the picking along the banks, so a container and take some home.  The Oswego River is approximately 90 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.

Participants must be American Canoe Association (ACA) members and complete an ACA online waiver.  ACA membership provides liability insurance for club events. Uncertain if you have a waiver?  Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”.  If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete a waiver.  Non-ACA members are encouraged to join and complete an annual waiver before the trip.  The $40 membership provides insurance for Club events for the next year.  The day of the trip ACA members without an annual waiver (bring your ACA membership number) and non-ACA members can complete a paper waiver.  Non-ACA members must pay $10 in cash for a one-day event membership.
