The East Brandywine is a pleasant small stream that weaves in and out of farms, woods and parks/land preserves. It is typically no more than 100' across, with lots of ripples and easy class 1 rapids. It requires a similar skill level to the original Delaware River trip. Anticipated trip time for this 10-mile paddle is approximately 4 hours. We will take breaks and eat lunch along the way. The East Brandywine is approximately 50 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.
Trip changed to the East Brandywine due to the forcasted high water levels on the Delaware River, Tinicum Park to Lambertville.
Paddle this pretty section of the Delaware River lined by wooded bluffs and rock cliffs. This section of the river has smooth waters and simple well-spaced riffles and class 1 rapids. Anticipated trip time for this 15-mile paddle is approximately 5.5 hours. We will take breaks and eat lunch along the way. The Delaware river is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.
