
This course is designed for the beginner or novice student who would like to learn or enhance their canoeing skills. The course will cover equipment, safety, strokes, boat control and water reading. Solo and tandem instruction offered, no partner is necessary.
Class will be in the NJ Pine Barrens, rain or shine
Class will meet 8:30 a.m. at the Philadelphia Canoe Club, 4900 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128 (directions below).
HOW TO DRESS: Be prepared to be wet all day. Clothing suggestion: Quick Drying Shorts and Shirt, Swimsuit, windbreaker or rainjacket, closed water shoes or sneakers (no sandals or barefeet).
THINGS TO BRING: Lunch and snacks. We will eat at the lakeside. Change of clothes, towel, strap to secure glasses, sunblock, snacks and drinking water in unbreakable bottle.
COST: Adults: $100 -- Minors (12-18 years old): $50 (Price includes boat, paddle, lifejacket).
You may take Day 1 only ($70 adults - $30 minors) but you must take day1 before continuing to Day 2.
