Philadelphia Canoe Club Open House on Sunday July 13 Offers
Whitewater and Flatwater Boat Rides, Racing, Demos,
Equipment Sales, Food and Fun - Right on the Schuylkill!
The
Philadelphia Canoe Club (PCC) opens its doors to the
public for a day of free demonstrations, canoe and kayak
rides, used equipment sales, racing, music, food and
entertainment. Righ on right on the Schuylkill River
on Sunday July 13, from 10 am to 4 pm. Come and learn about one of the fastest growing sports in the country - paddling.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers needed for setup, food prep, grilling, donating baked goods, boat rieds, rolling, playboating demos, assisting with race, ticket sales, clean up, etc. Contact Grace at

you dream of spending the summer running raging whitewater
or on quiet paddles through the woods or wetlands, the
annual PCC Open House is an opportunity to learn about
events and training, try out different types of boats
or compete in a race on the Schuylkill River. Among
the day's highlights:

The
Open House is free and open to the public.
The Philadelphia Canoe Club (PCC), which runs events,
trips and paddling training programs open to the public,
is a non-profit organization and a member of the American
Canoe Association (ACA). The public is invited to attend
regular monthly meetings at the clubhouse on the third
Monday of each month at 7:30 pm.
The
PCC clubhouse is at the confluence of the Wissahickon
Creek and Schuylkill River, within the Fairmount Park
System. Our driveway entrance is at the traffic light
on Ridge Ave. by the SEPTA DEPOT/bus stop, just south
of the Manayunk Main Street movie theater (between Duron
Paints and the entrance to Kelly Drive).

Take I-76 W toward VALLEY FORGE
Take EXIT 340A toward LINCOLN DR / KELLY DR. 0.3 miles
Merge onto CITY AVE W. 0.1 miles
Take the exit toward RIDGE AVE WEST. 0.2 miles
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto RIDGE AVE. <0.1 miles
Make an immediate left into the parking lot in front
of Phila Canoe Club (not visible from the street), 4900
